About Us

  Jamia Urdu, Chennai has been established by an Act 27 of 1975 of Govt. of Tamilnadu (Societies Registration Act). It is a Minority Educational Institution formed under Article 29 & 30 of Constitution of India for promoting Urdu education across the country. The prime objective of the Board is to extend help and support to the students of the Muslim Minority community and the weaker section of the society with the especial emphasis on girls education.

  Jamia Urdu is an autonomous body which is established for development of education under the guidelines of National Education Policy 1986, and Programme of Action 1992, Government of India.

  Jamia Urdu is also registered by Govt. of Tamilnadu. The board also fulfills the aims of vocational and educational right of Indian constitution 1950 under Article 14, 15, 19 (1), 21, 26, 29, 30, 45 and 46.
